Bosworth is the only battlefield in England with a dedicated battlefield interpretation centre, run by Leicestershire County Council. Any visit to the battlefield should ideally include a tour of the Visitor Centre, where there is a great deal to see about the background to and military context of the battle. The Centre is well worth a visit and entry is reasonably priced. Guides are available, as is an Education Pack and they also run a regular events programme.

There are a series of monuments and other views of the landscape that the visitor is guided to from the Centre. However, unfortunately, the facility was set up in the early 1970s based around what many consider a discredited interpretation of the battle. The Council is now taking a very positive approach to the new ideas about the location of the action and is meeting the challenge of revising all the interpretation. But, until a detailed archaeological study of the battlefield is carried out, it will be impossible for anyone to provide a whole satisfactory interpretation or battlefield tour. What is presented inthese web pages will undoubtedly need major revision if and when such a study is completed.
