Rupert: The Cavalier and his Conflicts

The battles of Vlotho, Marston Moor and Naseby are key links in the
chain of Prince Rupert of the Rhine's military career, with the prince growing in
experience and seniority at each encounter.

After writing a new biography of Prince Rupert, author and Battlefields Trust joint North Region Chair Mark Turnbull will discuss new academic research about Vlotho and Powick Bridge together with his own findings relating to Marston Moor and Naseby, and the unearthed primary sources which provide fresh interpretations as well
as busting a few myths.

Following the talk there will be an opportunity to buy copies of Mark’s new book together with his previous publications, which he will be happy to sign.

This talk is free. Voluntary contributions are welcomed at the end, with proceeds to be split between The Battlefields Trust and repairs to the historic church of St Helen, Bilton-in-Ainsty.
