There is a inscription placed in the chapel in the late 1800s to the Courtenays - Earl John, Sir Walter, both buried in the Abbey, and Sir Hugh (also killed in the fighting but not buried at Tewkesbury)

Condition Description:
John Courtenay, 16th Earl of Devon. He was commander of the left wing of the Lancastrian army and died in the fighting on the battlefield. The memorial is faded and had since its erection been enclosed in a small cupboard in the chapel. It is not visible to the public
