Memorial Notes:
The life sized statues were carved in 2015 by Simon O'Rourke, having been commissioned by the now abolished Northampton Borough Council as part of a six statue "Knights Trail" for the town centre. These were subsequently relocated to other locations around the town. The full trail covers the development of armour from 1215 to 1460. The two statues at Delapre Abbey depict a man at arms on foot and a mounted knight from the Wars of the Roses. Both are dressed in the most up to date armour that would have been worn at the 1460 battle. The information plaques on the bases about the battle have been superseded by more recent research.
