From a photo I took: Hereabouts took place on Thursday the 18th of June AD 1450 the battle of Solefields fought between royalist troops under Sir Humphrey Stafford and men from Kent led by Jack Cade.

Condition Description:

The carved writing looked worn & algae were growing on the lower part of the inscription when seen in 2020.

Memorial Notes:

It records an event in the disturbed period leading up to the WotR which included King Henry’s retreat from the London area & Cade’s attack on the City.
