Memorial Notes:

Whittingham was in Henry VI's service as Treasurer for the wars in France and was killed at the battle of Tewkesbury in 1471. According to Bramley (Peter Bramley, The Wars of the Roses: a field guide and companion, (Stroud: Sutton Publishing, 2007), p.123) Whittingham also fought at First St Albans (1455) , Wakefield (1460), Towton (1461) and took part in the abortive attack on Carlisle in 1461.
