Memorial Notes:
William Bulkeley (c. 1418-1489) was a Stanley adherent and deputy constable of Beaumaris Castle from 1440, latterly under Sir William Stanley as Constable. His wife Elin was the daughter of Gwilym ap Gruffydd of Penrhyn, another family of Stanley adherents. Some of the saints on the tomb chest have a clear Tudor charge (eg Winifred, Helen) and the design with shields on fictive ribbons may have been based on the late C14 tomb of Gronw ap Tudur Fychan and his wife Myfanwy, now at Penmynydd but formerly at Llanfaes Friary.
