Memorial Notes:
On the evening of 3rd May 1471 the army of Edward IV made camp at Tredington having chased down and caught the Lancastrian army of Queen Margaret of Anjou camped at Tewkesbury a mile away. Local tradition recalls how the army camped in the fields surrounding the small church before marching to battle the following day.
Again tradition recalls King Edward, his brothers Richard Duke of Gloucester and George Duke of Clarence took mass in the Church before setting off to battle in the morning.
