A day spent scouring documents at Hereford Archive Research Centre. The search continues for any clues that may help us learn more about what really happened at Mortimers Cross on Candlemas Day, 1461. The volunteers, led by the project's archaeologists, Dr Glenn Foord and Tracey Partida, were rewarded with some items of interest. The actual location of the battle has yet to be determined but the search has brought with it many rewards in terms of widening the interest in the most decisve, yet least documented battle of the Wars of the Roses.
