Station Three - The fight for the Moor
Having driven the Royalit musketeers from the hedge bordering the Moor, the Parliamentarian foot began a steady advance towards the Royalist gunline. On their right Sir Thomas Fairfax defended an enclosure with a small body of horse and musketeers. Twice, larger bodies of Royalist horse attempted to break into his position but were only able to enter 3 or 4 abreast. Both attacks were repulsed and Sir Thomas was able to counterattack towards the Royalist guns. [Cont]
