There is a room upstairs called the Treaty Room, which has some oak panelling from the period.
These were discussion trying to agree a treaty, but Charles I did not himself attended the negotiations. The discussions started on 30 January and continued until 20 February 1645. Some of the building was demolished in the 18th century to create space for the new alignment of the Oxford Road.
