THIS MONVMENT IS ERECTED BE SIR ROBERT INNES , YOUNGER OF THAT ILK IN MEMORIE OF ALEXANDER DRVMOND OF MEEDHOPE, SIR JOHNE MURRAY, AND MAISTER GIDEON MURRAY WHO LYES HEIR INTERED, WHO FIGHTING WALLIANTLY IN DEFENCE OF THEIR RELLECION (?) KING AND NATIVE COVNTRIE, DIET AT ALVDERNE, THE 9TH MAY 1645.
This old Stone was Removed to the East Lobby of the Church, and this one placed here instead in 1883, by T.D. Brodie W.S.
