SIR JOHN GORDON Bart of Haddo
was imprisoned for conscience sake in a small church which then formed part of this Cathedral and became known as "Haddo's Hole". He was executed on June 19th 1644. This tablet is erected in his memory by his descendant, JOHN CAMPBELL GORDON, Marquis of Aberdeen & Temair, KT 1933.
