Does the monument still exist?
Yes

Inscription:
If Newark was a stinking, plague filled town during the final siege, then Millgate would have been one of the worst places to be. Dirty industries were normally established on the outskirts of the town. Night soil men, the old fashioned toilet emptiers, would bring their loads to be used in tanning leather.
The text goes on to describe the mills that would have been in the area and how saltpetre was a key ingredient of gunpowder, before describing the unpopular role of the saltpetre man. A map shows the location of the other panels on the trail and information is provided on how to download and use the app.
