Visit and Tour of Norwich Castle Museum

Saturday 5th July 2025

Start at the main entrance at 1100.

We will be led by a tour guide round the museum and be able to discuss the castle’s history. The castle has played a key role in many of the historical events during its 600-year life as a Norman Castle. Perhaps most notably for us, it was where Robert Kett was executed [7th December 1549]. The tour is of approximately one and a half hours duration.

The castle has recently undergone an £27.5m refurbishment of the Keep. Works should be completed by the Spring, enabling access to the Keep, however, if this is not so, then the tour will concentrate on the museum and the historical elements of the castle. In that case the entrance fee will be reduced.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets.

To reserve a place, please email Tony Hawkins, the County Coordinator for Norfolk on battlefieldstrustnorfolk@gmail.com

Entrance fee and fee for guide is £17.50 per person. (£12.50 if the Keep is not open by then)
