Beech Bottom Dyke St Albans fortified by the earl of Warwick at the second battle of St Albans

Join Peter Burley and Mike Elliott for a walk across the northern section of the second battle of St Albans on Bernards Heath where the earl of Warwick had set up his defences.

Meet at 2.00 p.m. outside the King William IV pub, 185 Sandridge Road, St Albans, AL1 4AH.

The route is circular and is approximately two miles, lasting around two-and-a-half hours, and ending back at the King William IV. Some of the ground is likely to be muddy, so stout footwear and suitable clothing is recommended.
