Memorial Notes:

In the burial register there is an entry that states that 'John Yaats' was 'Leiftenant to Captain Clough'. It is likely that he was part of the Parliamentarian garrison that was based at Warrington after 27 May 1643 under the Governorship of John Booth.

There was a rector at the church with the same surname at this time but there is nothing to show whether this young officer was
his son.

How he died is also not known. There was no fighting going on locally at that time so he probably died a natural death.
