Battle of Fulford 1066 Events Weekend

20-22 September 2024

Chas Jones, who led the Fulford battlefield project, will carry out several free events on this important precursor to the battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings.

Friday 20th September (Battle anniversary), 12noon. Fulford long walk (4 hours) 

Friday 20th September 7pm, Talk: "The evidence that identified the Fulford battle site" Venue: Fulford Social Hall, School Lane, York YO10 4LS.

Saturday 21st September, 2pm. 2 hour tour of the battlesite.

Sunday 22nd September, 2pm. Fulford long walk (4 hours).

Walks start at Fulford playing field, opposite Fulford cemetery, Fordlands Rd, York YO19 4QG

NB: Walks will involve some uneven and possibly muddy ground. Stout footwear required.
