This web resource has been made possible by the substantial support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Hartnett Trust.

English Heritage, especially through their Battlefields Inspector Dr Paul Stamper, have given encouragement and assistance throughout. They have provided some digital data and also, via their staff at the National Monuments Record, provided digital copies of vertical air photographs taken by the RAF during the 1940s, which are reproduced here on the relevant battlefield pages.

Landowners have provided access to areas of various battlefields which are not publicly accessible, while several organisations have also helped with the provision of a range of information on their land holding and conservation policies including: The National Trust, The Forestry Commission and the Ministry of Defence.

Staff of Record Offices and other libraries and archives across the country have also been extremely helpful, making the task of researching the many battlefields an easier and a more enjoyable experience. Various Local Government Archaeological Officers and Sites & Monuments Record Officers across the country have also provided advice and information on battlefields in their areas.

Publishers, including Osprey, Pen & Sword and Sutton, have given permission for images from their publications to be included on the website.
