Potters Bar Zeppelin Walk
Saturday 5th October 2019
Clive Hammersley will be leading a walk looking at the dramatic events of the night of 1–2 October 1916, when German Zeppelin L-31, under the command of Kaptain Heinrich Mathy, Germany's leading Zeppelin ace, was shot down in flames over Potters Bar by Lieutenant Wulstan Tempest, a Royal Flying Corps fighter pilot. Those wishing to attend should meet outside 'The Old Manor Pub', at 11.00 a.m. The walk will be about 3 miles, mainly on level ground, and will take around three hours. Please wear clothes and footwear suitable for the weather. A donation of £5.00 is asked for from non-Battlefields Trust members.
