Agincourt Wind Farm Update
9 November 2018
In mid October 2018 the Battlefields Trust reported on the threat to the setting of the Agincourt battlefield from a proposed wind farm development (see http://battlefieldstrust.com/news.asp?NewsArticleID=234&Refresh=9%2F11%2F2018+9%3A56%3A35+AM) .
The Trust wrote to M. Xavier Bertrand, the President of the Hauts de France region in which the battlefield is located, asking what could be done to prevent the development. M. Bertrand has replied indicating his opposition to the proposed development and has written to the Prefet of the Pas de Calais – the Département in which the battlefield is located – highlighting his and the Trust’s objections.
M. Bertrand has also written to the Assistant Director General of the local le pôles d’équilibre territories, which has some responsibilities for development issues in the region to pass on the Trust’s objections.
Those interested in following this issue or who wish to register their opposition to the proposed development should read the Facebook page of the France based Organisation for the Preservation, Promotion and Protection of the Battlefield of Agincourt, also known as Vent de Champ de Bataille and sign the Petition it has created at change.org
