Marston Moor 1644 Social History Day and Play

Saturday 1st July 2017

This event has had to be cancelled due to the low levels of interest.  Anyone who has booked for the event should contact Marston Grange using the details below to obtain a refund.

The final event of the battlefield calendar at Marston Grange this year takes place on the anniversary weekend and is a social history day with academics from all over the country coming together to discuss the background to the battle of Marston Moor from their different perspectives.  Areas they will cover will include religion and witchcraft, the role of women, leadership and lordship, how brother was turned against brother, and medical practices at the time of the battle.  The day will be introduced by former Chairman of the Cromwell Association Patrick Little and in the evening there will be a play about the battle being written by local actor Ray Alexander.

Tickets for the Social History day cost £30 (£28 Battlefields Trust members) and for the play in the evening cost £15 (£12 Battlefields Trust members), which includes interval refreshments.
