Battle of Stamford Bridge 1066 Show
Saturday and Sunday 24th and 25th September 2016
Visit the Stamford Bridge 950th anniversary weekend re-enactment. Stamford Bridge is only 8 miles from York on the A166. Special guest: the Archbishop of York. A major two-day show: battle re-enactment from 2.45 p.m. on both days, living history, falconry, trade stalls and archaeology stands. Special show also planned by the children of Stamford Bridge. Also processional ride from York to Stamford Bridge by mounted warriors on the Sunday afternoon and firework display in Stamford on Sunday evening to end the commemoration.
