Conference on Mortality, Care and Military Welfare during the British Civil Wars

The University of Leicester and the National Civil War Centre in Newark present a two day conference on mortality, care and military warfare during the British Civil Wars. 

 

Some of the leading academics on the British Civil Wars from the UK and abroad will discuss a range of topics including: Medical Provision; Wounds and Injuries; Military Relief and the Quarter Sessions; Death and Burial; Mobility, Welfare and Memory; and War Widows in England and Ireland.  Also included is an augmented reality Newark town trail, Barber Surgeon Demonstration & Wine Reception sponsored by Midland History.  Further details, including how to register and the cost can be found at  www.le.ac.uk/militarywelfare2015
