Battle of Worcester 1651

Sunday 7th September 2014

Sunday, 7 September 2014. The Battle of Worcester 1651. This walk will concentrate on the northern part of the Battle of Worcester. Meet at the Commandery, Sidbury, Worcester WR1 2HU for a 2:30pm start. The walk will take us to Red Hill, Perry Wood and back to Fort Royal Park following, as far as possible, the old roads which were there at the time. Parking is available near the Commandery but please do not park at the Commandery itself as this is reserved for staff. Also, for those who would like an overview of the first part of the battle Tony will be at the Ketch Viewpoint at 12 noon on the same day for about half an hour. The Viewpoint overlooks the Ketch Roundabout at the junction of the A 38 and A 4440 and the entrance to it is about 100 yards to the south of the roundabout on the A 38 to Tewkesbury; turn right where it is signed "Viewpoint". Contact Tony Spicer on a.spicer@btinternet.com or 01684-572925 for further details.
