East Anglia Region Study Day

Saturday 12th February 2022

The latest East Anglia Region Study Day will be held at 10am on Saturday 12th February 2022 at The All-Saints Hotel, Fornham St Genevieve, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP28 6JQ.

The price is £25.00 per Member; £20 for Life Members and £30 for non-Members.

A buffet lunch is available for an extra £18.95.

There will also be access to the talks via Zoom; cost £10.

Speakers include Dr Emily Winkler (Research Fellow in Medieval History at St Edmund Hall, Oxford) on Contemporary Interpretations of the Battle of Fornham 1173, Laura Howarth from the Sutton Hoo Visitor Centre on the role that Sutton Hoo has played in our knowledge and understanding of Anglo-Saxon culture, and Dr James Barnaby on The 12th Century Flemish Mercenaries and their role in the Battle of Fornham.

Given the many uncertainties of the Covid situation, if Government restrictions result in us having to cancel the “actual” event and revert to a Zoom only presentation, we will refund monies paid to ‘in person’ attendees and give them the option to “re-enlist” as Zoomers.
